The History of Lincoln Chamber Productions

In December of 1992, Timothy Woods, then Music Director of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln IL, conducted the first performance of Lincoln Chamber Productions, then known as the Lincoln Professional Chamber Ensemble. For the next six years, small professional chamber concerts and recitals were produced in Central Illinois, most notably at Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, Illinois. This took place in 1996 when the name was changed to Lincoln Chamber Productions, and LCP began to seek larger donations. Ameritech sponsored the concert entitled "Isolate Garden of Prairie," performed in July of that year at the Dana-Thomas House. Since then, LCP has received grants from the Driehaus Foundation of Chicago, Merrill Lynch, First National Bank of Chicago, and several private donations.

In 1998, LCP launched a series entitled "Musicam Sacram", named after a Roman Curial document on music in the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. Musicam Sacram was formed to encourage a more faithful endering of this 1967 document, performing beautiful examples from the Roman Catholic and Christian musical heritage. Musicam Sacram also gives lectures and workshops on the same topic.

In the Fall of 2006, LCP set out on a new venture, the Ecclesia Men's Choir, a liturgical, professional men's choir whose purpose it is to sing the great music of the Church, both East and West, and revive the esteemed tradition of men's choirs.
